Daisy Martinez-DiCarlo, LMHC, LPC, CP, PAT (She/Her)
Biographical Statement

Daisy is a certified psychodramatist, a practitioner applicant for trainer in psychodrama and a licensed mental health counselor living in the state of Florida. She has over 20 years of experience and has worked in multiple settings including Yale's intensive, in-home child and adolescent psychiatric services, not for profit outpatient mental health agencies, urban public schools, inner city school-based health centers, a charter school, private practice and she currently sees clients in her private practice both online and in person. In her practice, she serves a diversity of clients (neuro emergent and neuro typical clients, people of the global majority, people of color, teens, adults and couples and LGBTQIA+ clients). She is also working as a therapist in a sober house with women identified people who have a history of incarceration and who are in recovery. Daisy integrates trauma-informed principles, psychodrama, IFS principles and the developmental liberation model in her work.

Daisy’s pronouns are she/her and she identifies as a first generation Puerto Rican American woman who is a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. She is now a third year Practitioner Applicant for Trainer and has provided trainings introducing psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy at various settings including to university graduate counseling students; online to professionals working during war time in Ukraine; in person and online to educators, mental health and other helping professionals and in person and online to lawyers at the Trial Lawyer's College. She presented at the 81st and 82nd Annual ASGPP Conferences. She is a proud member of the Sociatry and Social Justice Committee for the ASGPP and has co-facilitated the BIPOC affinity action groups and the Diversity Forum. Daisy is the recipient of the 2024 ASGPP Sociatry and Social Justice award and was recently appointed to the Executive Council of the ASGPP.

Daisy founded the Theater for Social Justice, Inc., a not-for-profit organization in Sarasota, Florida which provides access to social justice group practices to the community through psychodrama and sociodrama methods as well as Boal's “Rainbow of Desire” mode of “Cops in the Head”. As a part of this new role, Daisy’s not profit has co-sponsored the first Annual Diverse Fest in Sarasota, FL and has begun to provide community support groups and workshops in Sarasota, FL in an attempt to support, advance and protect human rights.
