Toyosi Morgan

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Toyosi is a third Ph.D. student at the theatre department, at the University of Illinois. Her research interests are social justice theatre, documentary theatre, theatre historiography, interdisciplinarity, and criticism. In 2019, Toyosi started a theatre of the oppressed company named Theatre Maniacs and for the company's first production, Toyosi adopted Augusto Boal's Forum theatre to engage with the issue of gender-based violence prevalent in Nigeria.
