Marsae Lynette is a queer interdisciplinary artist, educator, and scholar from Flint, Michigan committed to creating engaging work that empowers & enlightens. With a recent Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Michigan and currently pursuing a PhD in Performance Studies at Northwestern University. Marsae’s research explores Afro-indigenous ecological performance practices. Notable accolades include the Kresge Gilda Snowden Award and the Rackham Merit Fellowship, recognizing her impactful contributions to both arts and academia.

Marsae’s expertise extends beyond academia; she serves as a choreographer, notably contributing to productions like Hastings Street, which premiered at the Detroit Music Hall, and the acclaimed Magnolia Ballet presented by Williamston Theater and Plowshares Theater.
